What is solvent recycling?

1. What is solvent recycling?

[FIg.1]before

[Fig.2]after

Various manufacturing plants dispose of cleaning agents (waste solvent) discharged from production processes as waste because solvent contains various substances as shown in Fig. 1. However, it contains recyclable solvent components.

Therefore, solvent is extracted utilizing a solvent regeneration system (solvent recycling system) to enable reuse.

2. What are the advantages of introducing a solvent recycling system?

The table below shows the advantages of introducing our Vacuum Distillation Continuous Collection System (Product name: CLEAN-ACE802).
The user recycles waste solvent of 13 drums on average monthly (180L×13 cans, 2,340L/month).
Solvent recycling through the introduction of the system resulted in the realization of purchasing cost reduction of new solvent.
In addition, there are data showing the reduction of solvent disposal cost, further increasing the advantages.

The chart of economic advantage shown below reveals that new solvent purchasing cost was reduced, in comparison with the solvent purchasing cost in the previous year, because the purchased solvent volume decreased after the introduction of the system in June.

3. Examples of introducing solvent recycling systems.

[FIg.1]before

[Fig.2]after

  • A printing company recycles the contaminated cleaning solvent used for cleaning the rolls and fixtures used in printing processes.
The CA100 Series system was introduced in order to remove the ink and pigment from the thinner and to reuse it.
  • A rubber and urethane manufacturing company introduced the CA811 Series system in order to remove the resin from the solvent (MEK, MIBK, etc.)used for cleaning a reaction furnace used in product manufacturing processes and to reuse the solvent.
  • The CA800 Series system was introduced to extract the solvent component (toluene, xylene, etc.) contained in raw materials generated in product manufacturing processes and to reuse the raw materials.
  • The CA900 Series system was introduced to recycle alcohol used for cleaning fixtures used in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • The CA100 Series system was introduced to remove the paint generated at a vehicle painting work site of a railroad company from the thinner and to reuse the thinner for cleaning fixtures.
  • The CA100 Series system was introduced to recycle cleaning thinner for painting robots generated in parts manufacturing processes at an automotive parts manufacturing company.
  • The CA900 Series system was introduced to recycle Class 2 petroleum cleaning agents, toluene, etc., generated in manufacturing processes at a semiconductor parts manufacturing company.
  • The CA-700-20 system was introduced to take measures to remove VOC solvent odor filling rooms at a printing company.
  • The CA400 Series cleaning system was introduced to clean semiconductor parts, electronic parts, glass products, bolts, etc.
  • The CA-700-70 system was introduced to dry waste cloth used at a printing site.

4. What should we do until purchasing the system?

First, inquire by clicking.

  • Our sales personnel will contact you.
  • Implementation of previous arrangement and sample test
  • Determination of system model and specifications
  • Placing an order (Ordered product to be manufactured)
  • Trial run and adjustment prior to delivery
  • Trial run and adjustment on-site (Additional discussion may be necessary depending on the installation location.)
  • When delivery is finished, operation will be started.

5. Are there any special conditions upon the installation of a solvent recycling system?

Usually the system should be installed at a site well ventilated and with no combustibles or facilities storing them within 3 m from the periphery of the installation site. In addition, signs of “Caution: Flammable” and “Dangerous!” should be posted. Moreover, since the conditions vary depending on the solvent volume for the system, the solvent volume stored in the room where the system is installed, the type of solvent and the type of building, if you have any questions, contact us directly.

6. Collectable and uncollectable substances.

[Collectable substances]
Waste thinner, toluene, ethyl acetate, isopropyl alcohol, ethanol, methanol, xylene, butyl acetate, chlorine-based substances, fluorocarbon-based substances, acetone, MEK, MIBK, kerosene, ethylene glycol-based substances, hydrocarbon-based cleaning agents and Classes 2 and 3 petroleum (some aqueous solvents are collectable).
[Uncollectable substances]
Strong acidic and strong alkaline substances, water, etc.

7. How pure is the recycled solvent?

Click the report of analysis test results to see the analysis results for reference.

The analysis results vary depending on the contaminated liquid.

8. Overseas installation

We have already installed the systems in China (Shanghai, Guangzhou, etc.), India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, etc.

9. Explosion-proof

We are often asked whether the system satisfies the explosion-proof criteria. Our explosion-proof specification products are designed and manufactured based on the Japanese explosion-proof guidelines. In addition, the system and the relationship between the system and the installation location are inspected by the jurisdictional fire station.

For reference, the types of explosion-proof installations are as shown below

Flame proof installation
Intrinsically safe installation
Pressurized installation
Increased safety installation

10. Maintenance

Small solvent recycling systems, etc., are designed so that maintenance, such as there placement of gaskets, can be easily performed by the customer.
In addition, we follow up on the maintenance of all of our products.
We welcome inquiries about maintenance. Please contact us at any time.

11. Is it possible to design any product described in your catalog based on our specifications?

Yes. We also apply paint colors and specified parts according to your specifications.
Inquire with us at any time.
